With Hawaii Prep in the rear-view mirror, for now, and Konawaena and Waiakea ahead, Kohala’s boys basketball team continues to rattle off BIIF boys basketball victories.

Isaiah Salvador scored 21 points Thursday and the Cowboys put the defensive clamps on Kealakehe, rolling to a victory for the second consecutive night in Kapaau, 58-26.

The Cowboys (9-1) led 21-13 at halftime, then held the Waveriders to just three points in the third quarter. Kohala, which has games remaining at Konawaena (Tuesday) and Waiakea (Feb. 6), reeled of 24 points in the fourth quarter.

The Waveriders (3-8) were eliminated from playoff contention.

In JV, Kohala won 57-54.

On Wednesday, O’Shen Cazimero led the way with 16 points as the Cowboys broke away from a halftime tie to win a potential Division II playoff preview, 67-59 against Honokaa.

Isaac Jardine scored 12 points for the Dragons (3-5), who are in third in D-II.
