WINDS…West 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph, becoming
northwest tonight. Winds will be strongest over and downslope
from the higher terrain, and where most efficiently funneled
around the terrain and through valleys.
TIMING…Through 6 AM Monday, with the peak winds expected this
afternoon into this evening.
IMPACTS…Winds this strong can make driving hazardous, cause
damage to roofs and poorly built structures, and result in
flying debris. Additionally, downed trees can be expected along
with widespread power outages.
Instructions: A high wind warning means that winds are expected to be at least 40 mph with gusts over 60 mph. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts, secure loose objects, and prepare for the possibility downed power lines and power outages.
