This is the reply to the earthquake we felt last Thursday around 8:15pm.

There does appear to have been an earthquake around 08:16:38 pm HST on 06/20.  This is from a seismic monitoring station at Kahua Ranch. A quick estimate of the magnitude puts it around 1.0.  I suspect this is the second of the two events you may have felt.

There were two smaller earlier events about 08:16:07 pm HST and 08:15:20 pm HST, with the larger of the two being at 08:15:20.  This roughly matches your observation of a 90-second delay between the shaking episodes you felt.

We did not record these earthquakes on enough stations to get reliable locations, but it does appear to be in the Kohala area.  A station at Kapaau Police Station also recorded the third largest event, and Waikii picked it up as well.  Mahukona did not register the shaking.

Aloha,
Brian Shiro, USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory
