.Deep moisture along a front will move over the Big Island
today and tonight, producing periods of snow showers and freezing
rain. The threat of significant winter weather may extend into
Friday.

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO
6 AM HST FRIDAY…

* WHAT…Snow showers and periods of freezing rain. Total snow
accumulations of up to 5 inches.

* WHERE…Big Island Summits above 10,500 feet.

* WHEN…From noon today to 6 AM HST Friday. This advisory may
need to be extended into Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Blowing snow will
significantly reduce visibility at times, with periods of zero
visibility.
Instructions: A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING FOR THE BIG 
ISLAND SUMMITS... 
 
...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 AM 
HST SUNDAY... 
 
* WHAT...Southwest to west winds will increase through the morning 
hours over the Big Island summits. Sustained wind speed will 
range from 45 to 75 mph with localized gusts over 90 mph. 
 
* WHERE...Big Island Summits. 
 
* WHEN...From 6 AM this morning to 11 AM HST Sunday. 
 
* IMPACTS...Travel to the summits is not recommended until winds 
have subsided.
Instructions: Take necessary precautions to protect property. Travel to the summit areas should be delayed until winds subside.
