This is a COVID-19 informational update for Wednesday, August 4th.

For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 63 new Coronavirus cases and is currently monitoring 845 active cases with 21 persons hospitalized.

The Department of Health has determined that the County of Hawaii has reached community spread of Coronavirus.  This means that you may be exposed to Coronavirus whenever you leave your home.  Please protect yourself when you are out by following the safe practices of face coverings, distancing, and limiting gathering sizes.  Stay at home if you are not feeling well.

On testing today, one test is scheduled at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo from 3 to 6 in the afternoon.  Vaccination will be available as well.

The Department of Health, clinics, and pharmacies regularly offer Coronavirus vaccinations.  Please visit the Civil Defense website for a list of all clinics and pharmacies providing vaccinations and testing.
