Rough shoreline conditions
RP stating he was opihi picking when his friend fell in the water. RP stated when he jumped in to help him, the victim grabbed his arm and were both starting to go underwater. The RP let go of the victim to get a breath of air, then did not see the victim once he went back underwater.
C1, C2 did search grids from last known point for missing 47 year old male. RB7 Sealegs did a surface swim last known point and went north with the current. Rescue Company 7 was able to use DLNR boat later in the day to do 1 SCUBA dive from the last known point going north. Coast guard Dolphin Helicopter also arrived on scene, deployed drift markers and assisted with grid search. Additional Coast guard units to arrive on scene this evening and will continue search in the morning with HFD units.
