This is a Weekly COVID-19 informational update for Wednesday, April 13th.
In the last 7 days for Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 160 new cases, 248 active cases, and 4 persons hospitalized.
While the Island of Hawaii is categorized by the CDC as Low Risk, coronavirus is still within our community and it is recommended as a Best Practice that;
Masks be worn around vulnerable populations, when in crowded areas, or where there is little to no distancing available in public.
Wash hands frequently and use hand sanitizer.
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly.
And, stay home if sick – are all best practices we can live by.
The County of Hawaii will continue to have available hand sanitizing stations and you are welcomed to wear masks at county facilities.
