New state office will promote trauma-informed care

HONOLULU — With the enactment of Senate Bill 2482 this month, Hawaii becomes the first state in the country to create a statewide, legislated office dedicated to improving community health and wellness by promoting trauma-informed care.

Gov. David Ige signed the bill earlier this month and an announcement ceremony was held Monday featuring lawmakers and representatives from organizations and agencies who helped to develop the legislation.
