Honolulu begins Little League World Series with rout of Washington

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — An unlucky draw for the West Region meant that the Honolulu Little League All Stars opened the Little League World Series before most of the rest of the bracket.

Hawaii’s fourth straight squad in the LLWS wasted little time in leveling the playing field at Lamade Stadium on Wednesday as Honolulu defeated Bonney Lake of Washington, 11-1, in five innings via the mercy rule to advance to the U.S. quarterfinal round.
