HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu was awarded the U.S. Water Prize in the Outstanding Public Sector Organization category for its work on the One Water climate adaptation policy, according to a news release.

The One Water Panel manages water resources that are being affected by climate change
It includes all forms of water, such as stormwater, wastewater, freshwater, graywater and recycled water
The panel brings together eight city agencies: the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, the Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency, the Department of Design and Construction, the Department of Environmental Service, the Department of Facility Maintenance, the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Planning and Permitting and the Department of Transportation Services
The U.S. Water Prize honors sustainable, inclusive and integrated solutions to America’s water problems.
