HONOLULU — An art exhibit at Honolulu Hale honors the 120th anniversary of Korean immigration to Hawaii, according to a release.

Marie Ann Han Yoo, 85, is a descendant of the first wave of Korean immigrants who came to the Territory of Hawaii
She is the only known Korean American women photographer who captured images in post-war Korea from 1956 to 1957
The images she took show ordinary life in Korea as the country tried to rebuild itself after the Korean War, which left 5 million people dead
The exhibit will be at Honolulu Hale until Feb. 10, 2023, and is open Monday to Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
The Korean American Foundation Hawaii is presenting the exhibit, which features photos by Marie Ann Han Yoo and rubbings from tombstones of early Korean laborers.
