Flash Flood Watch update for Thursday, February 16th at 2:00 pm.

This is a Flash Flood Watch update for Thursday, February 16th at 2:00 pm.

 

The National Weather Service Flash Flood Watch, issued at 6 this morning continues for the State and County of Hawaii through Saturday.  Heavy rain, gusty winds, and lightning are possible.

 

The Flash Flood Watch covers the entire Island; however, the Kau, Puna, and Hilo Districts are the most at risk for this event.

 

Due to the Flash Flood Watch, the following are issued:

 

All Residents in flood prone areas should prepare their property for flooding and should remain alert for flooding conditions.
Be aware that outdoor events may be cancelled with little to no warning.
For your safety, the Waipio Valley Road is closed through Sunday for everyone except Waipio Valley residents and farmers.
The Hele On Park & Ride in Hilo has relocated from Kamehameha Ave. to Kuawa Street through Monday morning.
