Official Report….Anaeho’omalu Bay Shark Bite

8 HFD apparatus; 14 HFD personnel
60’s male swimming approx. 200yds offshore in Anaeho’omalu bay when unknown size or type of shark attacked him. He was able to make it on to a catamaran that was moored in the bay.
The catamaran had a crew aboard that helped control the bleeding to his upper and lower extremities. Ski-2 transported the patient from the catamaran to the beach where HFD personnel were waiting. Patient was treated and transported to the North Hawaii Hospital with injuries to his left hand and the back of his left leg.
