Hawaii baseball team shuts out UC San Diego to begin Big West series
A superb shared pitching performance and a timely hit carried the Hawaii baseball team to a 1-0 victory over Big West leader UC San Diego at Les Murakami Stadium on Friday night.
UH’s second shutout victory of the season was achieved when Dallas Duarte went to the opposite field on an 0-2 pitch for a two-out double in the bottom of the eighth, scoring Jared Quandt. Then, reliever Harrison Bodendorf set the Tritons down in order in the ninth.
