This is a Kilauea Eruption message for Wednesday June 7 at 6 in the morning.
The Hawaiian Volcanoes Observatory reports an eruption at Kilauea Summit Halema`uma`u Crater began at 4:44 this morning.
HVO confirms all activity is confined within the Crater located within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park at this time. There is no volcanic threat to any communities.
Due to the eruption, you can expect higher levels of volcanic gases and fine ash near the eruption site. Please take necessary precautions when near these areas.
