Training exercises to be conducted at Kona International Airport

KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii — Two training exercises will be held at the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole in November, announced the Hawaii Department of Transportation.
The Hawaii District Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighters will conduct fire training at KOA from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 13. The ARFF team will test its response protocol to a live emergency scenario involving burning fuel. There will be smoke in the area. This exercise is a triennial requirement by the Federal Aviation Administration.
