Civil Defense Wind Advisory update and High Surf Advisory message for Tuesday, November 14th at 10 AM.
The National Weather Service Wind Advisory continues for and includes Hamakua, North and South Kohala, Ka`u, and Puna Districts, and interior areas of Hawaii Island through this evening.
The National Weather Service has also issued a High Surf Advisory for all east facing shores of Hawaii Island, from Upolu Point in North Kohala through Cape Kumukahi in Puna to South Point in Ka`u through Thursday.
Surf is forecast to build tonight to 8 to 12 feet.
Due to the Wind Advisory;
Motorists, drive with caution.
Stay clear of and report any downed trees, utility poles or lines to authorities.
Due to the High Surf Advisory;
Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.
Beach-goers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials. And, when in doubt, don’t go out.
