Utility work to close one lane of Hawai‘i Belt Road in Holualoa
August 21 from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
HILO, Aug. 16, 2024 – Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole on Hawai‘i Belt Road, also known as Mamalahoa Highway, in Holualoa on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
One lane of Hawai‘i Belt Road, between Waiono Ranch Road and Iokepa Place, will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Flagmen will provide onsite traffic control.
Crews also will be working in the area on Tuesday, Aug. 20, but this preparation work will not require a road closure.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution when approaching and passing the work zone as well as plan for traffic delays in the area.
