Customers who remain without power urged to report outage
HILO, Aug. 27, 2024 (8 p.m.) – Hawaiian Electric has completed power restoration to all remaining customers impacted by Tropical Storm Hone, with the exception of those who must repair damage to their property before service can safely be restored.
Power has also been restored to all Maui and O‘ahu customers impacted by the storm.
On Hawai‘i Island, crews completed repairs in the following areas:
- East Hawai‘i: Āhualoa, Eden Roc, Hawaiian Acres, Hawaiian Beaches, Hawaiian Ocean View Estates, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hilo, Honokaʻa, Leilani Estates, Mauna Loa Estates, Nānāwale, North Kūlani, Orchid Land, Pepe‘ekeo, Volcano, Waiākea Uka
- West Hawai‘i: Kalaoa, Kuakini, South Kona (Kāpua)
- North Hawai‘i: Hāwī, Kamuela, Waikōloa
- South Hawai‘i: Pāhala
Any customer who is still without electricity is urged to call the Hawaiʻi Island Trouble Line at 808-969-6666 to report the outage.
Hundreds of employees on Hawai‘i Island, Maui and O‘ahu worked behind the scenes and in the field to safely restore power as quickly as possible. Lineworkers and support staff from neighbor islands who traveled to Hawai‘i Island to assist with restoration efforts are scheduled to return to their home locations tomorrow.
