Civil Defense message for Tuesday 01-07-2025 at 07:56 AM.
The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Warning for West Facing Shores of Kohala, and Kona District(s) of Hawaii Island through Thursday night.
A High Surf Warning means large breaking surf, significant shore break, and dangerous currents exist that could cause injury or death.
Due to the High Surf Warning, please be advised:
- Heed instructions of Ocean Safety Personnel.
- Those along the West Facing Shores should take necessary precautions.
- The following beaches are closed:
Kahalu`u Beach Park, Kohanaiki Beach Park, Mahukona Beach Park.
- Other beaches may close without notice.
