Utility work to close Mamalahoa Highway in Kona
10 p.m. on March 25 to 6 a.m. on March 26
HILO, March 18, 2025 – Hawaiian Electric crews will replace two utility poles on
Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 180) in Kona on Tuesday evening, March 25.
The overnight work will require closing a section of Mamalahoa Highway near the
intersection of Lawai‘a Road, from 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, to 6 a.m. on
Wednesday, March 26.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route and to drive with caution if approaching
the work area. Flagmen will be onsite to provide traffic control.
