HILO, July 7, 2025 – Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole on Ahikawa
Street in Kona on Wednesday, July 9. The work will require a closure of Ahikawa Street,
between Holu Street and Kiekie Street, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Motorists are advised to use Ahulani Street as an alternate route and to drive with
caution if approaching the work zone. Flagmen will be onsite to assist motorists and
pedestrians while the work is being performed.
