Upcoming utility work in Kona

HILO, July 22, 2025 – Hawaiian Electric crews will replace utility poles in Kona on Tuesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 31.
On July 29, there will be an intermittent closure of the makai lane of Hawai‘i Belt Road near the intersection of Ano‘i Place, between mile markers 109 and 110 in south Kona, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On July 31, Mamalahoa Highway, south of Poli Uli Road, will be closed between mile markers 5 and 6 from 10 p.m. on Thursday to 6 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and to drive with caution when approaching the work zone. Flagmen will be onsite to provide traffic control.
