Lighting Upgrades to Begin at Kamehameha Park Tennis Courts

The County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation announces that a lighting improvement project will begin Monday, Aug. 4 at the Kamehameha Park tennis courts in Kapa‘au.

The project involves removing the old, non-functioning lights and installing new lights and electrical infrastructure. The work is scheduled to last approximately 60 days.

During this period, temporary weekday closures of the tennis courts may occur while the contractor, Isemoto Contracting, carries out the work. Courts will generally reopen after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and remain available on weekends and holidays.

Parks and Recreation asks for the public’s cooperation in observing posted safety notices and closures throughout the project. Mahalo for your patience as we make this important park improvement.
