The National Weather Service High Surf Advisory for South Facing Shores of the Ka`u, Puna, North Kona and South Kona Districts of Hawaii Island continues through {Forecasted end}. The Coastal Flood statement remains in effect through late this evening.
A High Surf Advisory means surf will be higher than normal. Strong breaking waves and shore break will make swimming difficult and dangerous.
Beach-goers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution when entering the water.
Issac Hale Beach Park in Puna is closed due to dangerous surf. Be advised that other beach parks may be closed without warning due to the surf.
