Keaʻau Transfer Station to Temporarily Close for Paving on Sept. 17
The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Environmental Management will temporarily close the Keaʻau Transfer Station on Sept. 17 for paving work. The facility is scheduled to reopen on Sept. 18.
During the temporary closure, residents are encouraged to use nearby transfer stations:
• Hilo Transfer Station, open daily 6 a.m.-6 p.m. (1471 Ho‘olaulima Road)
• Pāhoa Transfer Station, open daily 6 a.m.-6 p.m. (15-1870 Cemetery Road)
We appreciate the community’s kōkua as we complete this important maintenance to improve safety and service at the Keaʻau Transfer Station.
