Pāpaʻikou Recycling and Transfer Station to Temporarily Close for Tree Trimming

The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Environmental Management will temporarily close the Pāpaʻikou Recycling and Transfer Station starting on Monday, Jan. 12 for tree trimming. The facility is expected to reopen Sunday, Jan. 18.

This short-term closure is necessary to protect public safety. Due to the nature and location of the tree work, it’s not possible to safely allow vehicles into the facility.

During this temporary closure, residents can use the Honomū Recycling and Transfer Station (28-1844 Old Māmalahoa Highway) as an alternative location.

Honomū Transfer Station Hours:
• Monday: 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
• Tuesday: 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
• Wednesday: Closed
