…MINOR COASTAL FLOODING DURING HIGH TIDE THROUGH WEDNESDAY
MORNING…
.A combination of peak monthly high tides and water levels
running higher than predicted may produce minor flooding along the
shoreline and in low-lying coastal areas around the time of the
high tide between midnight and daybreak.
* WHAT…Nuisance coastal flooding due to high water levels.
* WHERE…Vulnerable low-lying coastal roadways, docks, boat
ramps and other coastal infrastructure.
* WHEN…Around peak high tide during the early morning hours to
around daybreak on Wednesday.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of beaches that are normally dry, minor
coastal erosion, and saltwater inundation.
Instructions:
Avoid driving through flooded roadways. If you are forced to
drive through salt water, be sure to rinse your vehicle with
fresh water. Move electronics, vehicles or other valuables to
higher ground. Monitor vessels to ensure mooring lines don’t get
too tight and watch out for overwash around boat ramps. Secure
canoes or other watercraft stowed on beaches.
