Civil Defense message for Friday 03-13-2026 10:26 AM.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for all the districts of Hawaii Island.
A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding. Flooding may not occur, but is possible.
Due to the Flood Watch, be advised:
- Residents in flood prone areas should be prepared for heavy rains and potential flooding
- Do not attempt to cross flowing water in a vehicle or on foot; turn around don’t drown.
On Road Closures: Kaalaiki Road(Cane haul Road) in Kau between Pahala and Naalehu is closed due to flooding. Be aware that road closures may occur without notice.
All County non-emergency services are Closed through Saturday.
Closures include; all transfer stations and landfills, parks and facilities and offices.
