The National Weather Service has several alerts still active from the recent rain and wind event. The Flood Watch for Hawaii Island is in effect this evening. The High Wind Advisory is cancelled, but the High Wind Warning for Big Island Summits remains in effect through tomorrow morning. The High Surf Advisory for West Facing shores remains in effect through tomorrow morning.
A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding. Flooding may not occur, but is possible.
Be advised:
- All emergency shelters have closed.
- All arterial roadways are open to traffic.
- HECO is working to restore power across Hawaii Island. Residents are asked to avoid travel unless necessary while crews respond to make repairs.
