…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE
ISLAND OF HAWAII IN HAWAII COUNTY…
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
* WHERE…The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County.
* WHEN…Until 745 AM HST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
and eastern slopes of the Big Island. Rain was falling at a
rate of 0.5 to 1 inches per hour.
Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Kapaau, Honokaa, Laupahoehoe,
Honomu, Ninole, Hakalau, Ookala, Pepeekeo, Papaikou, Paauilo,
Mountain View, Glenwood, Keaau, Kamuela, Hawaiian Acres,
Orchidlands Estates and Kukuihaele.
This advisory may need to be extended beyond 745 AM HST if flooding
persists.
Instructions: Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn around, don`t drown.
