Swimmer in distress found in waters off Puna Coastline.
HFD and HPD responded for a swimmer in distress in the waters off the Puna coastline near Kapoho-Kalapana road at approximately the 16.5 mile marker. Life guards from Pohoiki beach as well as CO-10, C-01 and CO-02 responded to this incident. Upon arrival the person was located by Chopper 1 in the water and was air lifted to awaiting EMS personnel via Billy Pugh net. ALS protocols were initiated but the person refused further treatment or transport by EMS. The scene was left in care of HPD.
