Kona Aloha Singers Sets 2023 Winter Concert December 3

KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII ISLAND—The Kona Aloha Singers (KAS), an adult

contemporary/popular music chorus, announces its spring concert titled Journey Into The Holidays at King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3.

The chorus will perform songs by One Republic, Pink, Maroon 5, Rascal Flatts, The Beach Boys, Miley Cyrus and more with 35 singers and 8 musicians, plus Brother Nolan and Binti Bailey as soloists and comedian Justine Smith as emcee.

The concert introduces new KAS artistic director Delaney Yuko Ross, who also serves as the drama and theater director at HPA.  Ross studied classical voice at the Manhattan School of Music, earned a B.A. in ethnomusicology (study of music through an anthropological or cultural lens) from Barnard College at Columbia University, and an M.S. in education from the University of Edinburgh. She was on her way toward a doctorate in ethnomusicology from UCLA when the opportunity arose to join HPA’s faculty.

Lifelong island resident Dale Ross serves as the concert’s accompanist. She plays for Kona’s Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity Choir and has been active in Aloha Theater musical productions.

Tickets are available online at konaalohasingers.org. Advanced tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for keiki; while priced at $25 for adults and $7 for keiki at the door. The Kona Aloha Singers is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and is currently seeking donations.
