Cause:
Possible mechanical malfunction
Upon arrival found 40′ looking container on fire in HELCO transfer station (Panaewa Substation). Unable to determine what trype of structure or electrical power to structure.
Initiallly unable to initiate fire suppression operations due to possible high voltage to structure. Fire protection to nearby exposure established until HELCO personnel on scene to advise if safe to extinguish fire.
Power disconnects established and fire suppression commenced. Fire suppression efforts hindered due to large amount of flammable liquids exiting structure and hindering access to direct fire suppression.
40′ container on rolling chasis with 20′ of additional sound suppression add ons. Housing electric generator and power transformers with a 1000 gallon diesel tank.
