Three generating units repaired and online
HILO, Jan. 30, 2024 (4:30 p.m.) – Hawaiian Electric has lifted its request to conserve electricity on Hawai‘i Island and expects to have sufficient generation this evening.
Earlier today, Hawaiian Electric initiated rolling outages on Hawai‘i Island due to a generation shortfall. About 25,500 customers around the island were without power for about 30 to 60 minutes between 8:38 a.m. and 10:52 a.m.
