Two disturbances in the Eastern Pacific have 80% chances of becoming tropical storms within the next five days, according to forecasters with the National Hurricane Center and Central Pacific Hurricane Center.

The first disturbance, associated with a tropical wave a little more than 1,000 miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, is “beginning to show some signs of organization,” and a tropical depression or tropical storm will likely form by early next week.

The system is expected to move west to west-northwest at 10-15 mph.

Additionally, an area of low pressure and disturbances formed a few hundred miles south of the Gulf of Tehuantepec.

A tropical depression will likely form next week while the system moves generally westward at 15-20 mph.

No tropical cyclones or disturbances are currently observed in the Central Pacific, according to the National Hurricane Center.
