Kauai high school students invited to submit entries for Women’s History Month

LIHUE, Hawaii — The Kauai County Committee on the Status of Women invites entries from Kauai high school students in private, public, charter and home schools for the 2023 Women’s History Essay Contest.

“Your silence will not protect you,” is this year’s contest theme. This famous quote is by American civil rights leader, Audre Lorde, who dedicated her life to confronting racism, sexism, classism and homophobia through community organizing, writing and teaching, according to a news release.
