HPD Seeks Public’s Assistance with Identifying Suspect in Hit and Run


Hawai‘i Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the operator of a vehicle involved in a hit and run traffic collision that occurred in a retail store parking lot located in the 16-0000 block of Orchidland Drive in the Puna District.
On January 12, 2023, at 07:00 p.m., Puna Patrol officers responded to a hit and run traffic collision that occurred in a retail store parking lot located off of Orchidland Drive. Officers contacted the victim who reported they had witnessed a white Toyota 4Runner SUV bearing Hawaii license plate number ZHH625 strike their parked vehicle. The victim took a photograph of the responsible vehicle and its occupants before the vehicle fled the scene without exchanging information.
