Foodland Grocery Store

Company 1 responded with members of Haz Mat Company to a report of unknown white
smoke originating from a machine room in the back of the store, spreading out into the store
floor. On arrival, confirmed presence of unknown haze/smoke, no signs of heat or fire. Store
evacuated, all staff accounted for, no complaints reported. Air sampling and monitoring
performed. Material identified by system technician as freon gas escaping from a damaged
refridgerator system compressor. Repairs made by technician. Store to remain closed to the
public tonight to complete ventilation, will re-open tommorow.
