FEMA allocates $53M to build a temporary school in West Maui
LAHAINA, Hawaii — The Federal Emergency Management Agency has allocated $53 million to build a temporary school to replace King Kamehameha III Elementary School in West Maui. U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, announced the federal funding in a news release Monday.
King Kamehameha III Elementary School was destroyed by the Maui wildfires in August; the money comes from FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund.
