Ganadan called Lendlease, the California-based management company that holds the contract for the Air Force and manages more than 2,500 military housing leases at the base, a “predatory corporate landlord” and said the increases were untenable for civilian residents who do not receive a housing allowance
According to Lendlease Communities executive general manager Justin Kern, the vast majority of increases to civilian households this cycle have been for less than $500 per month
Kern said civilian residents also benefit from free utilities and property insurance and some receive rental discounts
