Hokulea set to arrive in Honolulu on Dec. 6

HONOLULU — Six months, 2,800 miles and approximately 45 ports later, voyaging canoe Hokulea is stowed safely aboard Matson’s “Mahimahi” container ship as it makes its way back to Hawaii.

What You Need To Know

- The Polynesian Voyaging Society said there will be a ceremony at METC at 4 p.m. on Thursday that will be open to the public

- The focus will be on training, education and planning while Hokulea is in Hawaii

During the last six months, several crew members were also able to complete the final phase of training to become captains during the Moananuiakea Voyage
