Cause:Unknown. Children from housing complex known to play in the area.
Rough terrain of dry grass covered gulches and uneven grounds.
Companies 16, 14, 9, and chopper 2 responded to brush fire rapidly spreading in a Southwest direction. Best access made through Quarry road. Mutiple Engines, Tankers, Brush trucks, and Chopper 2 made initial attacks on all perimeters while simultaneously protecting housing structures. Brush fire perimeter contained to about 75 acres. Two brush trucks to monitor area over night for any hot spots.
Smoke and flames visible from a 10’X50′ brush fire moving southwest. Fire 100 yards from Waikoloa Gardens and Pua Melia St.
