…FIRE WEATHER WATCH FOR LEEWARD AREAS OF ALL ISLANDS ON FRIDAY… .The combination of dry fuels, low relative humidity and strong trade winds could bring critical fire weather conditions for leeward sections of the state during the day Friday. The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday afternoon. * AFFECTED AREA…Leeward portions of all Hawaiian Islands. * TIMING…From Friday morning through Friday afternoon. * WINDS…Northeast to east 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 40 to 50 percent. * IMPACTS…A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Instructions

Should a Red Flag warning be issued, outdoor burning is not recommended. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
