HILO, Dec. 9, 2024 – Hawaiian Electric crews will replace underground cable at the intersection of Kuakini Highway and Palani Road in Kona from 10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, to Friday, Dec. 13, at 6 a.m.
The overnight emergency repair work will close the right turn lane from Palani Road to Kuakini Highway. The right turn lane from Kuakini Highway to Palani Road also will be closed. However, flagmen will provide onsite traffic control to allow motorists to turn right from Kuakini Highway to Palani Road.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and drive with caution when approaching and passing the work zone.
