9 overdue spearfishermen last seen by lifeguard on duty approximately at 1500.

Company 1, Rescue Company 2, BC1, and Chopper 1 responded to Honoli’i Beach Park for nine overdue/missing spear fishermen. Lifeguards on duty saw a party of 9 spear fishermen entering the ocean and made contact with them to warn them to be careful. After approximately an hour, lifeguards went to investigate via paddle board and located a buoy with a fish and spear attached by was unable to locate any divers. Additional resources were requested with HFD personnel responding. Upon arrival of fire personnel, Company 1 personnel located spear fishermen north of Honoli’i point via binoculars. Chopper 1 was advised of location and rescue personnel were able to extricate all nine spear fishermen via Chopper 1 with billy pugh net to Honoli’i beach. Company 1 personnel assisted with securing a landing zone and removing spear fishermen to a safe area. All fishermen were assessed and found to be in good health with no medical attention needed.
