Public Invited to Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Meetings
The County of Hawaiʻi Civil Defense Agency invites residents to upcoming meetings for the 2025 Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan update.
Community meetings will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the following dates and locations:
- Monday, Feb. 24 at the West Hawaiʻi Civic Center, Building G (74-5044 Ane Keohokālole Highway, Kailua-Kona).
- Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Nā Leo TV (91 Mohouli St., Hilo). This meeting will be broadcast live at www.naleo.tv. The recording will be posted on Civil Defense’s website.
The Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies strategies and actions to reduce the risk to residents from natural disasters. Public input will help revise the plan, last updated in 2020, to enhance public safety and build community resilience.
