* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall. * WHERE…The island of Oahu in Honolulu County. * WHEN…Until 1230 PM HST. * IMPACTS…Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 917 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over windward Oahu. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. – Some locations that will experience flooding include… Honolulu, Waipio, Waiahole, Waikane, Kahaluu, Ahuimanu, Aiea, Pearl City, Kaaawa, Halawa, Mililani, Moanalua, Punaluu, Salt Lake, Kaneohe, Wahiawa, Kalihi, Wheeler Field, Hauula and Kaneohe Marine Base.

Instructions

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn around, don’t drown.

Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 859 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over windward Kauai. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. – Some locations that will experience flooding include… Lihue, Kapaa, Princeville, Kilauea, Wailua Homesteads, North Fork Wailua Trails, Wailua, Anahola, Moloaa, Hanalei, Omao, Lawai, Wailua River State Park, Hanamaulu, Kealia, Puhi and Kalihiwai.

Instructions

A slow moving upper level trough will move through the islands today through Friday, bringing periods of snow to the Big Island summits. * WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 3 to 5 inches. * WHERE…Big Island Summits above 11,000 feet. * WHEN…From noon today to 6 PM HST Friday. * IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility at times, with periods of zero visibility.

Instructions

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
