Preparation Work Begins for
Mamalahoa Highway Paving
The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Public Works has begun preparation work for paving on Mamalahoa Highway between Palani Road and Kamalani Street, as well as on Kalamauka Road from Mamalahoa Highway to Ha‘awina Street.
The preparation work is scheduled to take place between 8:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. April 21 to April 25, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to use caution while driving in these areas. Flaggers will be directing traffic for intermittent one lane closures to ensure safety.
Message boards have been installed at the following locations to keep motorists informed:
• Palani Street
• Hualalai Street
• Near the Humane Society by Ha‘awina Street.
The schedule for the paving project will be announced once it is available.
