Become an agricultural peer mentor
UH CTAHR Seeds of Wellbeing Project is looking for farmers to join their 2026 Hawaiʻi Ag Peer Mentor Program. Mentors will receive a $2,500 stipend for participating in one all-day networking event on Oʻahu, four culturally-based wellness days on Oʻahu or Hawaiʻi Island, monthly Zoom sessions, two virtual mental health trainings, and completion of surveys and interviews. Apply online by the first week of December.

Get reimbursed for compost costs
Hawai‘i Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity’s 2026 Compost Reimbursement Program is now accepting applications. This program reimburses up to 50% of compost and compost transportation costs spent between July 1, 2025 and May 1, 2026. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until May 1, while funds are still available. Follow the application instructions online.

SUSPENDED: Micro-grants for food security
The Hawaiʻi Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity (DAB)’s Micro-Grants for Food Security Program competitively awards micro-grants to individuals and organizations working to increase food security. Individuals may be awarded $5,000 and organizations may be awarded $10,000. Due to the government shutdown, this program has been temporarily suspended. Stay tuned for more information.

Lāʻau Love plant adoption in Kona

Community members are invited to adopt up to two native or food plants per household. Both reservations and first come, first served plants will be available.
